Andras Salamon
Andras Salamon was a shareholder and Director of The Internet Solution from
1994 to 1998. Since leaving The Internet Solution Andras has been an active
angel investor, with portfolio holdings in Internet infrastructure and
business services relying on complex computer software. He graduated from
the University of the Witwatersrand with a first class MSc in Computer
Science, and since 2000 has been a visiting lecturer at the University. In
addition Andras holds a BSc Degree from the University of Cape Town.
Roberto Beninca
After completing his schooling Roberto commenced advanced studies in Electrical Engineering, which he finalised some years later before trying his hand at sales. He joined American Home Appliances for a period of three years in the position of Regional Sales Manager, and left to travel Europe. On returning to South Africa Roberto identified an opportunity and opened a small auto repair business in Johannesburg. Knowing nothing about the industry Robi worked hard at establishing the business and now owns a highly successful and reputable auto repair shop. At the same time he opened a signage company called Print Technica. His latest ventures include involvement in two Internet streaming companies, IVA and Sonorous Networks. Roberto invested in Borntosend while it was still just an idea, and is one of the original pioneering shareholders.
Geraint Crwys-Williams
Geraint Crwys-Williams was educated in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands, matriculating with full exemption from Michaelhouse and moving on to read law at Rhodes University. Whilst in Grahamstown Geraint decided to leave fulltime university and commence his articles with a local legal firm, completing his studies through UNISA. Using his legal knowledge as a valuable tool in business Geraint then worked for Ster-Kinekor Theatres (Pty) Ltd for a period of five years, as Regional Operations Manager. Until mid 2000 he was employed by TNT International Express (Pty) Ltd as National Operations Manager for Southern Africa, having given the company almost four years of service. Travelling extensively in Europe, the Middle East and Africa allowed Geraint to develop a detailed understanding of the courier industry and how to service the needs of all customers more effectively than what one single carrier is capable of. Since then Geraint has spent all of his time developing the concept of Borntosend and building the company into a marketable concern, which would dominate the aggregation of local courier services. Geraint left Borntosend as Managing Director at the end of October 2002 in order to pursue other business interests, but remains a shareholder.
Arthur Goldstuck
Arthur Goldstuck is founder and Managing Director of Media Africa, South Africa's leading specialist Internet research and consulting organisation. He is author of more than a dozen books, including The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Internet and The Art of Business on the Internet, regarded as the standard textbooks on the Internet in South Africa. His articles and columns appear in many leading publications in South Africa and internationally, and he is a contributor to On The Internet, the official journal of the Internet Society. Arthur is a regular lecturer at academic institutions, conferences and corporations on trends in technology and electronic commerce.
